Safety of Navy SEALs was my main concern in mission to kill Osama Bin Laden, President Obama says
President Obama said he didn't think twice about ordering the killing of Osama Bin Laden - his second thoughts were all for the commandos risking their lives. "As nervous as I was about this whole process, the one thing I didn't lose sleep over was the possibility of taking Bin Laden out," Obama told "60 Minutes." Anyone who questions whether Bin Laden got what he deserves "needs to have their head examined," Obama said. He said the SEAL team going into Bin Laden's fortified compound at night had no idea what to expect. "They don't know if the building is rigged. They don't know if there are explosives that are triggered by a particular door opening," he said. "My No. 1 concern was, if I send them in, can I get them out?" Obama spent an eventful weekend after giving the order that Friday morning to kill Bin Laden.
Al-Qaida vows revenge for Osama bin Laden's death

Courtesy of VegasInc - Local tourism leaders say they’ll continue to stay vigilant against terrorist threats regardless of Sunday’s announcement that Navy SEALs had killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. The Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security maintained the same level of terrorism awareness at the nation’s airports and local experts said Las Vegas resorts should continue to stay alert despite the death of the al-Qaeda leader responsible for the 9/11 attacks in 2001. Several tourism industry leaders also joined the chorus of praise for President Obama and the military team that cornered bin Laden, shot him to death and buried his body at sea. “TSA continually evaluates the latest threats and screening measures which are implemented based on the latest intelligence,” said Carrie Harmon, a spokeswoman for the agency that operates security checkpoints at McCarran International Airport....What’s there in WikiLeaks secret files

(CNN) -- U.S. officials say that al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a fairly new arm of the umbrella terrorist organization, is behind an apparent plot to send explosive devices to U.S. destinations via cargo planes,. "Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has been open in its venom toward the United States," John Brennan, a senior U.S. counterterrorism official and an assistant to President Barack Obama, said Friday. "Not only are they intending to do certain things ... they will in fact take steps to carry out those intentions." Brennan specifically pointed to the botched attempt last Christmas to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet en route from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Detroit, Michigan, on Christmas Day. U.S. and Yemeni officials have linked the attempt by man who tried to ignite explosives in his underwear to al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. ...German Police Smash Terrorist Cell
