Using Keyboard Correctly

Are your fingers numb?
Does your wrist burn?
If so, you may be suffering from a cumulative trauma disorder (CTD) such
as carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) probably because you are using your
computer keyboard incorrectly.
How can you use your keyboard safely to avoid injury? |
 |
- Break up repeating work. Do the work for a short period then take a
break or do something else and then return to the repetitive job.
- Change your posture often. Staying in one position for a long time
can harm your whole body. Changing your body position may seem more
tiring but actually is better for you as well as more restive.
- Do not use your muscles to hold your hands or shoulders in a
particular position.
- Keep your fingers and hands warm so they will be more nimble and
thus much easier to use.
- Minimize contact with hard or sharp surfaces.
- And, try to move with a move with an even motion – not jerking or
snapping your wrists.
- Use your keyboard safely to avoid injury.
