Using Keyboard Correctly

Are your fingers numb?
Does your wrist burn?
If so, you may be suffering from a cumulative trauma disorder (CTD) such as carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) probably because you are using your computer keyboard incorrectly.
How can you use your keyboard safely to avoid injury?
  • Break up repeating work. Do the work for a short period then take a break or do something else and then return to the repetitive job.
  • Change your posture often. Staying in one position for a long time can harm your whole body. Changing your body position may seem more tiring but actually is better for you as well as more restive.
  • Do not use your muscles to hold your hands or shoulders in a particular position.
  • Keep your fingers and hands warm so they will be more nimble and thus much easier to use.
  • Minimize contact with hard or sharp surfaces.
  • And, try to move with a move with an even motion – not jerking or snapping your wrists.
  • Use your keyboard safely to avoid injury.
